Creating opportunities for communities:
In line with the philanthropic legacy of Arthur Guinness and the Guinness family and as part of the 250 year celebrations Guinness have launched a special Arthur Guinness Fund (AGF).
From 18th May 2009 make sure you add your signature to the special GUINNESS 250th poster for the Arthur Guinness Fund on display in your local pub*. For every one signature added Guinness will contribute €2.50 (up to a maximum of €2.5 million).
The core focus of the Arthur Guinness Fund is to create opportunities for communities though social entrepreneurship. The fund, which will be administered from September 2009, has been set up to enable and support people to create/innovate with ideas and develop projects that have significant benefits and impact within their own community. In total, the fund will empower and support up to 25 ‘Social Entrepreneurs’ by partnering with Social Entrepreneurs Ireland. (www.socialentrepreneurs.ie)
