This is the tagline of Ashoka www.ashoka.org a global non-profit organization of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs focused on implementing solutions to the world’s most urgent social problems. Operating since 1981, Ashoka has provided over 2,000 leading social entrepreneurs (known as Ashoka fellows) with financial and professional support and a network of peers in over 60 countries. Launched in Ireland in 2006 we have three Ashoka fellows to date: Carolyn Casey, Tara Cunningham and David Egan. www.ashoka.org/ireland

To paraphrase Bill Drayton, founder of Ashoka, social entrepreneurship measures success, based not on how much money you make, but on how many people you help.
Changemakers is a programme of Ashoka and the leading network for open source social innovation.
Their recently re-designed site, features over 5,000 inspiring innovations addressing a multitude of issues from more than 125 countries. It also includes forums for discussions, posting of resurces and sharing of innovations makes it even easier for changemakers to engage and collaborate to bring about social change.
According to Changemakers’ Executive Director, Charlie Brown “Our new website will give the members of the Changemakers community — people who have big ideas and expect big things to happen — more opportunities to make social change happen more quickly and more profoundly.”
The principal means of Changemakers bringing together these ideas is through hosting open source competitions to find the best solutions to social problems with ideas ,received from all over the world, posted online and open for review, comment and advice.

Since 2004, in addition to the thousands of impactful solutions implement they have attracted approximately $30 million in post-competition investment for innovators around the globe.  Everyone can be a changemaker.
